Displaying Art Yarn

Pin It Now!

When people ask me "What can I do with art yarn?" my first ideas never involve knitting needles or a crochet hook.  I enjoy using at yarn in my home decor.  Here's a great idea that was submitted to me by Mary Dams from Nashville, TN:

"I had bought this ready-to-fill glass block to hold/display yarns and fiber I liked looking at (you can cram a lot in...or a little)…they are about $4-10 depending on size at Joanns stores, but I saw them on ebay--10 pack for $20…are stackable, come in different sizes and you can change them out easily. Included pic of one I have…not sure if you would want to share this, but feel free.  :) Have a good one!"

I think Mary's idea is absolutely charming!  When looking on eBay for glass blocks, try searching for glass craft blocks.

I think it would be beautiful to add some battery operated white craft lights so that your yarn can twinkle and glow as a light fixture!  You could stack them on your mantle, and switch out the yarns to coordinate with your holiday decor.

What other ideas can you come up with for decorating with art yarn?
